Normallly, this problem arises due to any of these four issues: Windows Problem, Power Adapter (Charger) Problem, Battery Problem, Laptop’s Internal Motherboard Problem. Since you have already changed the power adapter, we can rule it out.  You can check the battery driver: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery to ensure whether it is causing the issue or not. I would suggesting calling customer care if the laptop is still in warranty period. Generally the battery issues are not entertained by them, but it could be due to motherboard also, so they might find the real cause of the issue.

I'm having a weird issue here - I made a logo in Illustrator and then brought a jpg into Word to print labels. When I print it from Word the entire image comes out black, but when I print it from Picture Manager it prints just fine.

Any ideas? I seem to remember seeing this issue before but don't remember if/how I fixed it.

TIA

In the JPEG Options windows when exporting from Illustrator what did you use as Color Model? Make sure it is RGB.

You may also try Options> Advanced> Show document and check "Do not compress images in file"

It didn't offer me any options...

Can you plug in a monitor for the duration of your troubleshooting efforts?

I'm not sure where you tried and which Illustrator version, but here's how it is for me:

Good point - when I went now to re-try it I forgot about the screen that pops up after clicking save. Yes, it's defaulting to CMYK. I don't have access to that printer now but I'll assume that was the issue.
Thanks!

I have a Dell Vostro 230 desktop.

Big issue: the sound will randomly stop working.  When 'troubleshooting' it says the speakers aren't plugged in. I tried the settings and it doesn't recognize that the speakers are attached.
To fix this, sometimes unplugging and replugging the speakers works. OR we reboot and usually that solves it.
This is driving us nuts and I'm ready to buy a new computer.
I've updated the driver. no change.
I got a new speaker. Still doing it.

The sound stops working and the computer doesn't recognize that the speakers are attached.
Any ideas?

Does your computer have another place to plug in speakers, maybe in the back? Maybe there's something wrong with the audio port.

One of the things we try when the sound goes out, is to move the plug from the port in the back to the one in the front.  We even put it in the headphone jack sometimes.  Occasionally it works when we change the port.  But often not.

+1 I've seen that many times. Also with usb ports.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

98% of the time the sound card is built into to the mobo, so unless your replacing the whole mobo which would definitely not be worth it, you would probably just want to buy a sound card by itself.

How do I do that?  What price range are they?  Do you think that would solve the problem?
