Was greyed out before but not anymore now after i turn it off then boot from my usb after i say i want a clean install of windows (7)  and agreeing to terms is asks me what drive to install windows on and when i select my newly made partition I get this error "Setup was unable to create new partition or locate existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information."
Did you do any specific partition (meaning, that you have other partitions that you don't want to be touched)? If not did you delete all the partitions and recreate in the install wizard?

Since the most recent major Windows Update I no longer see the option to have windows wait to install updates until I instruct it to. Is there any when to set it that way so I don't lose any potentially unsaved work when it restarts? Even without unsaved work, all the autosaved spreadsheets etc are very annoying.

In the last version of Windows 10 you did have it?  I don't it was available there. There is no real way to do it now, you can disable completely Windows Updates with some workarounds but that would be unwise.

Gettting blue screen with error: Driver Irql Not Less Or Equal Blue Screen on Windows 10. Rebooted and get same error after some use. Any idea what it means and how to fix?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

It's impossible to say anything just from this message. Isn't it giving you any file name?

Also which antivirus and filter do you have?

Not sure if this is file name but it says "What failed:ndis.sys"
I'm using Kaspersky.
Thanks.

That helps somewhat.

Do you have a filter?

I'd suggest you 1) to update all your network drivers to latest version 2) temporarily disable Kaspersky's web protection part.

And then see how it's doing.

I check for updates on Dell website and downloaded a driver package titled I downloaded a Intel Driver package "Network_Driver_MVH6C_WN32_18.40.0.9_A06_04". When I try to install it  I get a msg " Installation blocked: A newer product version is already installed"...?

Uninstall the network driver completely and install this from Dell.

What about my other question and 2nd suggestion?

I temporarily disabled. I will need to see over a day or two because problem was happening every couple of hours.

Regarding uninstalling the current network drivers, are you saying that the currently installed ones aren't really newer?

It might be Windows Update installed instead of directly from Dell.

So then why is the batch from Dell better?

Because the PC manufacturer customizes stuff to match their PC.

Not always there's a difference, but sometimes there is, so it's worth trying.

Thanks. I have a bunch of network adapters; should I be uninstalling only the Intel one? (I guess I uninstall through device manager?).

The Intel one is disabled in your screenshot. Why?

And I see there's another WiFi adapter. Do you use a USB WiFi adapter?

Not sure why it was disabled. I do use USB Wifi Adapter. I may have turned of the primary network card to make it easier to connect to network...

Even after disabling the driver on the Intel adapter, the "Dell" driver package would not install. I got the error pictured below.

"after disabling"? I wrote you to "uninstall" it.

Anyhow, about the USB WiFi. Did you use the disk that came with it to install the driver?

I meant uninstalling. Sorry. I don't think so. Just plugged and played. I am now using the older "BearExtender".
