Did you try restarting? Do you have a content filter? Try another browser?
I tried restarted - no change - we have Nativ but never made problems before and working fine on the other computer - will try different browser

Different browser same problem
Open your start menu and type in "cmd" (everything I tell you, type without quotes) and hit enter. In the black window, type "ping google.com". Tell me the output that it gives you.

Is it safe ( as far as personal information) to sell a computer with SSD hard drive that I used but I wiped it though?

The question is really what it means that you "wiped" it. Just reinstalling Windows clean isn't really securely wiped. Most SSD manufacturer software suites have a Secure Wipe/Erase option.

It seems like an easy question but having a hard time figuring this out. I have an XPS 13 for a few months and have been logging in using my fingerprint. I few times the fingerprint reader wasn't working properly and I had a difficult time logging in. Usually, it resolved after restarting the computer. I don't recall creating a Windows password as well when I was setting up the computer but think it would be best to have one for the times when the fingerprinter isn't behaving. How do I go about adding a password?

I followed the instructions link below but it doesn't seem to have registered (unless that password is not talked about there is not the same used to login to my computer...?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

What happened to make you think it's not registered?

Did it say incorrect password or something else?

I just successfully replaced a cracked LCD on my Dell Vostro 15 following the instructions in the online manual.

The manual had me remove the bottom cover, remove battery, remove LED light, remove wifi card, remove fan, detach display assembly, remove bezel etc.

After doing it, I can't fathom why the LED and fan needed to be removed and actually don't see why the whole thing can't be done starting with removing the bezel and leaving the bottom closed and the display assembly attached.

Can anyone explain why the manual required so many seemingly unnecessary steps?

Looks like the manual was having you separate the 2 halves of the laptop, probably a waste of time because it's not too difficult to remove the bezel without separating them.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Thanks, that's what I suspected.  I'll know for next time.

Just got my cyber monday laptop (Dell Inspiron 7000 2-in-1) and it makes a static-y chirping noise. Is that normal? It has SSD so it's not the hard drive (I think).

It gets louder when I switch to tablet mode.

Edit: and even louder when I plug in my dock and monitors.

Broken fan perhaps?

Can you go the full replacement route? If so, best to try and start over with a fresh working laptop..

How would I know? I ran the full diagnostic scan on Dell's website and it didn't find any problems.

Maybe it is the speaker which can create static noise, try disabling it for a moment,

Good idea! I just tried that, it's not the speaker.

No, not normal.  Does it happen before Windows loads as well?

Seems like it. Should I be contacting Dell support?
