Have a Toshiba laptop couple of years old lately getting black spots on screen (might be dead pixels) how do I stop it from growing? Can it be fixed?

If you right click on the volume icon in your taskbar and click Open Sound Settings, do you see the device under Input Devices?

I got it to work by going to
Control panel>
Hardware and sound>
Sound>
under "recording" tab I right-clicked and selected show disabled devices and show disconnected devices,
then I right-clicked on "microphone" and clicked "disable".

But now MIC works fine, and the speaker works fine as well but not during a phone call! the person will hear me, but I wont hear them, but when I play music it works just fine!

I see the problem.

On GV, the default setting for "speakers" (under audio settings) is "headphones-(UE BOOM 2 Stereo)"
If I change the speaker settings  to "communications-headset"  it works perfectly fine.

However I have to do this every time I make a phone call,
How do I change the default setting to communications-headset?

Any idea what can be causing this issue?

Have a desktop computer with a monitor.
Now when I power on my computer or click the power button on the monitor the screen displays for around 2-3 seconds, after that the screen is really faint, meaning there's no color and if I look really close I can see the screen but on a black background, it's basically a black screen but I do see the screen if I look really close so for some odd reason it's extremely dim and there's no color.
But as soon as I remove a plug from the monitor or click the power button on the monitor and then power back on the screen, it comes on for 3 seconds and then goes into its dim unseeable screen.
Any chance it's actual monitor that's garbage hence it can't stay on more than 3 seconds?
My best bet would be to get another monitor and see what happens.
Or is it something that I should try to do? Yes the brightness level is set to 100%.

Maybe something in the computer that's corrupting the screen?

I have a Dell laptop that I recently added 8gb ram to for a total of 16gb.  In Task Manager it is showing 71% memory usage  but when I add up all the individual processes usage I get about 6gb.  What's going on?

Check to see how much RAM it actually says you have in task manager.
