Hi, I got a Brand new Hp Laptop that won’t turn on after a few months. It’s my kids laptop so who knows what they did to it. Any advise?

Is there a way to have a shortcut or hotkey to paste certain text (either in Windows generally or in word)?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

if just in word/outlook, the easiest is probably to create an autocorrect for it. Otherwise you can use autohotkey or texter.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

It does. It can do all caps. If you're not in word you can google it, I'm sure there's some website where you can paste your text and it'll switch it for you.

Once your doing that just paste it into word :)
I think he was asking for a universal keyboard shortcut.

I'm aware, I was looking for something built in. I wish it was like a shift capslock or something (although capslocks usually have a built in indicator light)

The closest i got, was running a script with a shortcut (not really a good option)
Code: [Select]
Add-Type -AssemblyName System.Windows.Forms
[System.Window.Forms.SendKeys]::SendWait("^x"); # cut
#[System.Window.Forms.SendKeys]::SendWait([System.Window.Forms.Clipboard]::GetText().ToLower()); # rewrite as lowercase
#[System.Window.Forms.SendKeys]::SendWait([System.Window.Forms.Clipboard]::GetText().ToUpper()); # rewrite as uppercase

Spilled some coffee on my laptop, half the keys are not working. Is there a fix or is it toast?
Drying it out isn't a great idea either.  Take out the battery, and get it to a place that can open it and clean it up ASAP.  many liquids will cause corrosion if they dry on the board.  if you're the handy type, alcohol is your best bet to quickly clean out the area and prevent corrosion.

+1
If you cant take out the battery cut power ASAP to prevent short circuiting. Water doesnt break keys. Water + electricity does.

Look up thread for fix. Basically buy the peice online and install yourself or gave Geel Squad, etc do it for you.

I'm getting a windows 7 update error exactly like this one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/2dj760/windows_update_error_80072ee2/

It's running on a Macbook and a fresh install of windows (it worked previously).
The above solution wouldn't work for me because theirs no registry listed there.

Update:
I'm going to assume that some Microsoft server was down, because today (randomly) it started working again.🤷‍♀️

I have a laptop with an SSD. Lately, "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" is giving me an error:
PCIe SSD on Controller 13, Port0: Offline

It seems that it's a partition of the SSD, but not the main one. Do I need to worry about this? (Laptop is within warranty so if there's something wrong I'd like to get it fixed)
