My new Thinkpad droped about 3 ft, at first it didn't start at all. It was trying to fix disk erorrs etc. now it starts but is running very slowly. Any suggestions of what it could be?

Likely hard drive.  Backup your data and try to get it replaced

I have all my important Data, The computer does not let me create a recovery USB. Should I send it in to Lenovo, or will they be able to tell that it was dropped?
Is it very complicated to replace a hard drive with no backup? Which SSD do you recomend? (price/quality)

Thank you for the reply. If there is no apparent external damage, could there be anything else wrong besides for the hard disk?

Either Speaker issue or very possibly an issue with the headphone jack. Sometimes something breaks inside and it makes the computer think something is always plugged in. Try to take a good look in the headphone jack

Thanks.

I used a usb to install malwarebytes on an infected pc. Should I be worried that the stick got infected now and how can I check?

What version of Windows are you running?
I would disable Autorun, then scan the USB.

Did you try rebooting the laptop?

yes clicked shutdown , got no response..
Tried ctr alt Del got this: see pic

Restarted manually. now screen black with mouse and spinning.... Waiting...

Finally home screen...

And Internet's working fine again!

So what was that all about? Is my machine on way out?

IMHO and experience, I would say it's just Windows being quirky, and if you don't have any issues in the near future then forget about it. But I'll let the experts chime in.

I am just beginning to read the forums.  Wow!  I need a lifetime to read all this info.

Problem:  Most of the links in dansdeals.com are not working for me.  (ie. titles, comments, blue links (some do work), 5 tabs (cc, mileage, etc) at top of dd page, etc).

Tried:  1.  on main dd page, pressed cookie picture on my Chrome browser top bar and deleted dd cookies

             2.  Same problem in Firefox

Anyone know a fix?  TY
