I haven't customized anything, just have tonnnnnns of pages open (unfinished business).
BTW, I got the same response from another site earlier, but that site has now been working for the past hour.
I had assumed (my fault) that you closed/reopened, and restarted your computer.  That is (almost) always the first troubleshooting step.

You are ingenious (realizing that I hadn't done the basic A, B, C's of trouble shooting) and you are the second guy on this forum that has made me feel like I am majorly brain challenged!  :-[   TY.

IMO, the quickest possible solution would be to remove and uninstall Chrome.  The exception would be if you customized many settings, then we could troubleshoot to fix the problem.
ime  chrome remembers everything. You have to also get rid of the data files or something to get rid of a corruption

You are correct, during the uninstall process there should be a box to check to remove data.

How do I get rid of the Total Defense pop up in the bottom Right corner of my screen?

Usually there is a button to push on the bottom Right of the popup square to Allow or Block the file or action in question.  Problem:  sizing of the Total Defense popup is such at times that I have no access to the buttons.  I need to wait for a file to come in that causes a new Total Defense popup to come that IS sized correctly for me to push the buttons to get rid of the pop up.

Is it possible to make multiple tabs in a regular document in Google Drive the way you can in a spreadsheet?

I'm having the same problem again with not being able to sign on to forums with my password in regular chrome.  Cookies are all allowed, nothing blocked, yet it is not recognizing my password and saying for me to check my cookies.  Restarted computer, but this time it did not work.  The only way it let me on this time was incognito.  Does that give a hint re the problem?

Passwords in other sites work.  Could this be a DD software issue or is it my computer?

If you won't lose so much, the easiest thing to try would be to clear the browsing data in Chrome.

Clear cookies (ok) or clear all history (rather not)?

I see the tab that says 'clear browsing data'.   Which items do you recommend me deleting (without deleting everything) in order to be able to sign in again?
ETA: I cleared all that is set at default (everything except history, I think), but did not help.

Reset chrome to default settings.

IME you have to go to the chrome file location and change the data(I think) file name to "backup."
This is the only way to get a real fresh chrome

Reset chrome to default settings.
While I was hesitating to do the above last time it spontaneously "got fixed" on its own so I didn't need to obliterate all my history.

Your chrome should be synced to a gmail account first. Then get everything off the computer, reinstall and resync. You should have bookmarks, passwords etc from the sync,

Which files do I need to backup on a thumb on a regular basis instead of syncing to Gmail to reinstall?

Your link shows how to do it in a spreadsheet, I wanted to know if it can be done in a regular Word type document. I found people in 2011 saying that it's not possible I just wanted to know if that's still current
