Try to log in physically at the computer.

Sorry, but I have to ask...you made sure caps are off?

Have a new laptop, recently the sound just stops working, (even the jack) all volumes are on highest.
I must restart the computer, it will then start working but at some point stops.
Any solutions? thanks

Maybe you have some software that is taking over your audio.  When you reboot, the programs closes.  Next time it happens, look to see what is running at that time.  Also, did you recently install any programs?

Ctrl-alt-del should still work.

I believe Amazon allows an alternative to Silverlight (flash?)

Anyone having difficulties after installing MalwareBytes?  I downloaded the premium version and have had constant freezing and crashing of different programs.

I have had to call them--ongoing problems.  After its fixed it seems to slowly slip from Silverlight to Adobe flash, which deems to be the default.  Frustrating.

I just got a used computer monitor from another office, and I plugged it in and now I have a few different colored going vertically on the screen. Anyone know what they are or how to get rid of them?  TIA

If it's a VGA monitor, check that all the pins at the end of the cable are there.

Is there a way to run windows XP on an Windows 8.1 machine?
« Reply #755 on: July 17, 2014, 12:13:25 PM »
I tried running my program in XP mode but it didn't work (right clicking and selecting troubleshooting).  Is there a virtual machine or other approach?

Thanks
