Do you have the same problem with other devices on the same network, or with a different browser?
Do you have a filter?

Maybe someone can help me. My internet has gone really slow all of the sudden. Sometimes, when pages dont load, it tells me to go into settings>change proxy settings>LAN settings> and then unchecked "use a proxy server for your LAN. About 5 minutes after I unchecked that, it gets automatically checked again and repeat of pages not loading etc.

Any ideas?

(im using chrome)
Run this - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/
click "Scan", and then click "Report", then click "Clean", then post the report here.

Is an AMD processor a bad idea? (looking for a new computer)

I personally prefer Intel, but IMO if it is a metziah, and your usage is basic/normal, go for it.  AMD is best for overclockers.

I've had that before. I guess it stopped on its own.

Did you try shutting down?

+1. I never figured out what caused it, or what stopped it.

Which is better (for a laptop) - a SSD with i5 processor and 4gb ram, or a regular hard drive with i7 and 8gb ram?

it depends how heavy you plan on using it for light use an ssd will help you a little bit and i7 will do nothing to help but for heavy use hdd will not really slow you much other than a few seconds in startup and i7 and more ram can help
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Heavy usage - lots of browser tabs, MS Office, some graphics (Adobe PS/ID/IL) here and there...
What do you think?

i5 should be just fine you can always buy another chip of ram for $40-50 and ssd is not a must although always a plus

Something is waking it back up. Try, one by one closing items from your taskbar. See if that helps.
