If you're using points then yes it has to be a min of 3 nights.

Easiest way is to buy a free suite night off of someone.

YMMV
I was able ( after a number of times of HUCA ) to book a suite in the PH paris for 3 nights, using 2 suite nights and 33k points for the last night

That by no means means it's possible to do it for just one night in a suite
