BA awards flight: skip one way of round trip?

I booked a RT flight with AA using Avios. My flight is Friday morning, but I'm considering taking a bus instead thursday night, for several reasons including potential delays at LGA because of the sequestering thingy...
Will I still be able to use my return flight? Do I need to notify AA in advance? Will AA charge me fees or cancel my return flight?

At this point just want to know my options. If skipping my outgoing flight will cause too much hassle, I guess I'd just take the flight.

Skipping your first flight will result in getting your return flight cancelled.

Can he just cancel his RT and re-book as a oneway? I have been able to cancel domestic AA flts using BA Avios w/o penalty.

thx. I cant cancel and rebook because I need a specific return flight. Anyways I hope there are no delays.
