Leider, a significant part of society charged it last week as well.
Why is it leider? I'm with R' Freddie on this one but if you shave, Shabbos is no time for Aveilus.

I thought ס''ט were more leaning to Kabala. Wouldn't that be a reason not to shave at all?

A Chassidishe Ma'aseh just to stir the pot  8)
A few American boys once approached Reb Itche Masmid (A Chossid of the Rebbe Rayatz who came to America to collect money/distribute Chassidus), asking him if they can shave during the 9 days Lekovod Shabbos. He looked at them and said "Lekovod Shabbos?! It's Lekovod yourselves! Shabbos doesn't want you to shave!"
and now a litvishe maayseh to stir the pot the other way. The chazon ish once told a bochur that it's more Kovod Shabbos to shave Sunday!*

* consistent with the Chazon Ish's opinion that Shaving is assur.

Except the gemara explicitly discusses cutting your beard with scissors and it clearly does not fall under the rhubric of lo silbash.

FTR, I do have a beard. I just don't get when people turn a singular belief that they have into the be all and end all when in the scheme of things it's not that critical. Like somehow shaving is equivalent to undergoing a sex change. Or chalav stam is the equivalent of not keeping shabbos (it's at worst an issur derabanan (yes I understand there is a chashash tarfus, but if not for the issur derabanan we wouldn't be choshesh))
The Tzemach Tzedek (שו"ת צמח צדק סי' צ"ג סק"ח) famously held that shaving is Lo Yilbash. And the Chafetz Chaim (ספר מצות הקצר ל"ת קע"ז) brings beshem the Chinuch that the Chinuch held like that as well.
If anyone can find that Chinuch it would be greatly appreciated. I searched and searched, and can't find it.

No, Sephardim should keep their halachos.
I was obviously referring to a certain Ashkenazic element that shaves in Sfira and 3 weeks, although it's not permitted.

Sorry, my mistake. I was saying that there is no pasuk "Lo silbash" (as was misquoted earlier). You got it right: "Lo yilbash".

There is a pasuk lo yilbash about wearing opposite gender clothing. There is a pasuk lo silbash about shatnez.

You quoted my comment that says lo Yilbash and wrote there's no pasuk lo Yilbash. I'm thoroughly confused.
