Except the gemara explicitly discusses cutting your beard with scissors and it clearly does not fall under the rhubric of lo silbash.
FTR, I do have a beard. I just don't get when people turn a singular belief that they have into the be all and end all when in the scheme of things it's not that critical. Like somehow shaving is equivalent to undergoing a sex change. Or chalav stam is the equivalent of not keeping shabbos (it's at worst an issur derabanan (yes I understand there is a chashash tarfus, but if not for the issur derabanan we wouldn't be choshesh))
The Tzemach Tzedek (שו"ת צמח צדק סי' צ"ג סק"ח) famously held that shaving is Lo Yilbash. And the Chafetz Chaim (ספר מצות הקצר ל"ת קע"ז) brings beshem the Chinuch that the Chinuch held like that as well.
If anyone can find that Chinuch it would be greatly appreciated. I searched and searched, and can't find it.
