Patient: Doc, the problem is obesity runs in my family.

Doctor: No, the problem is no one runs in your family.

"People are considered obese when their body mass index (BMI), a measurement obtained by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of the person's height in metres, exceeds 30 kg/m2."

BMI is an inaccurate method of determining obesity.

Mirror is very subjective and I have no friends.  :'(
That's perfect! Friends tend to lie to you too make you feel good, if you come to me on the other hand, I'll be glad to give you a brutally honest assessment...

ALOL!
BMI is an inaccurate method of determining obesity.

It may not be perfect, but it is a decent starting point for determining overall fitness. To paraphrase CV find a better objective measure and you can be famous :)

FTFY. BMI is good for the "average" person. If we planned the rest of our lives based upon averages, we'd wouldn't need to save tuition money (average kid is in public school) for our 2.4 children, we would be praying in churches and etc. My point is that for the people that aren't average, the results will be wrong 100% of the time.

If someone couldn't find a sensible religion, would you convince him to not be an atheist and tell him to become Christian? If no solution works, not doing anything at all usually makes the most sense.

Enough of that rant, waist to hip ratio is the best way to measure IMO.
