CVs point was (CWIIW) that it was a bit surprising that a ragtag group of unarmed civilians would start up with heavily armed riot police. And the fact that this is a common (and unreported) occurrence. Police violence is a fact of life almost anywhere, and I'd venture to say that active military personnel can be more restrained than some doughnut eating cop
