I don't think this belongs here but I can't find the right thread for PS.
On PS CC how does one change the color of an item. I know you should use the color changer tool but I need to change the color of something that is under a piece of plastic.
For example. If I have red apple in a hard plastic box and I want to change the apple to green,  how could I do it the I will still see the transparent plastic look but the apple a different color?
Tia.  If there is a specific thread please send me there.

Paint bucket should do a good job, otherwise use an HSL layer.

Paint bucket doesn't seem too exact. I'm not familiar with HSL?

You gotta make a selection for PB to work properly.

HSL is Hue, Saturation, Lightness. Make an adjustment layer and mask and play with the three sliders u til you get the color you want.

Nothing really, unless you want to deal with bulky adapters and filters.

That, and when your pictures don't end up looking like what you saw IRL, use Photoshop.

OK this is what I meant. I would love to change the bulb color to red for example. How would I go about that in ps?

I think we should open a new thread for ps

Here's a 10 second HSL adjustment, which will give you the basic idea.

(This was done on a calibrated monitor, so it may look pinkish instead of red to you.)

Remember that nothing will ever look as good as shooting it right in the first place... This may be a simple 1-color change, but something with multiple colors and graduations (i.e. just about everything) may not look 100% realistic.

Which parts did you select to edit? The hole thing or just the necessary parts? And then you go to image, adjustments, hue?

No selection whatsoever. Just adjusted the hue and used a brush to desaturate some unwanted color shifts on the key ring.

Not particularly ;)

Far too oversaturated and the color bleeds.
