Not particularly ;)

Far too oversaturated and the color bleeds.
But how else can I get a deep red?

Anyone here using Kelby recently managed to figure out how to download videos from their player?
They seem to be embedding with jwplayer, and I can't find the actual .flv to download.

Things I've tried already:
Forcing it to use html5 to reveal source: NO LUCK
Trying the popular flash video downloaders available for Chrome and Firefox: NO LUCK. I get a empty .flv file, even if the video is playing before I hit download.
Any help would be appreciated.

Most sites where you pay to access lesson videos do a very good job of blocking downloads. Don't hold your breath.

Recently?
I'm pretty sure JWplayer changed things fairly recently (a few months ago?) and the downloaders stopped working for it.
I don't know if the downloaders caught up yet, but last time I checked I didn't find one that works for JWplayer.

(I imagine this all depends on what security settings kelby is using on the player)

Found it - Orbit Downloader. I'm not linking to it, as apparently recent updates install garbage that will use your computer for DDOs attacks. Not sure if this is true, but your call.

No, not recently.

BTW by definition anything that buffers will store a local file on your computer. The trick is to find that and convert it to a working video file.

-1/2

some of them now send many many tiny files and the player stitches them together.

And not necessarily is the file always being stored in a format readable by other programs.

Worked like a charm, just downloaded a video.

Was far easier and simpler than my old way with Orbit.

Yup! Works great.
You may want to reenable your flash player when done.

That was the 1st thing I tried. I out what I did wrong: you need to disable completely shockwave flash , not just for kelby. than it will default to HTML5, giving you the source.

Next question, the videos I'm downloading are very low res, making it hard to read the words in the video. it's really annoying, esp for the typography class...
Anyone figure out how to play it in Full HD (1080p) in HTML5 mode?

Also, an easier way to download without opening the dev console is with the "Downthemall" Firefox extension, by filtering by ".mp4" and setting a "DTa Oneclick" filter afterwards you can download a full coarse very quickly.

It'll download the res it's playing in. Choose 1080, refresh the page, and download.

ETA: Nope, doesn't work.

When flash is disables, my browsers will not show a option to choose 1080p, it just plays the low res version...
Can you post a screenshot of the Res picker in HTML5 mode?

Attached is the controls I have in Firefox and chrome with flash disabled:

It doesn't let choose res after refreshing page once flash is disabled.

I Choose 1080p when flash is enabled, I disable flash, video plays at 720x406 with no way to change.
