Was waiting for you to post that!

We aim to please ;D.

Haven't found a workaround for the 720 yet (the file I downloaded is 720 as well). Changing the dimensions manually didn't help (not that I know too much about webdesign...).

I have a guy who could probably figure it out, I'll see him on Wednesday.

Maybe I'll bring it up with Kelby support tomorrow.
Obviously without giving account info 8) - "I'd like to join your site, but the trial videos are all blurry, and I can't install flash" etc. etc.

Often sites won't allow the high res version of videos when it's playing in a manner where they can't protect it.

And if they were able to find a way to protect the high res in that state do you think they were unable to find a solution to protect it completely?

I'm not quite sure exactly what you're trying to say, but when you have a site dealing with proprietary content you always need to find a balance between protecting your content and making your site user friendly / not driving your users crazy.

My point being that if they went the extra mile to protect from pirating by only allowing low res (for example, on HTML5) they can also go the 1.1 miles to protect it from any pirating at all. No?

At what cost to the user?

If there are x % of users who don't have flash do you want to alienate all those users? or do you give up the download protection on the lower-res versions?

Why would inability to download = a hard time on users without flash?

All my research tonight has shown me that this issue is incredibly common with HTML5 videos. The whole internet is up in arms about the fact that most if the time you can't select the quality of the videos.

The feature could be enabled through the provider's backend, but supposedly it's very complicated and resource-consuming.

It doesn't seem to me that this is a conscious decision by Kelby; it's more of an HTML5 bug.

I was actually going to look this up after my last post but I was away from my computer and you beat me to the punch. It's been a good few years since I've worked with video players, but I remembered vaguely there being an issue with HTML5 and high-res videos.

Regardless if it's the case here, my point still stands. For example this from Amazon:

Looking through the JWplayer documentation, it seems like their html5 player can toggle between different resolutions, but kelby would need to provide those resolutions for the switch to show up.
That page doesn't specify html5, but it works with flash disabled.

Is there any way to get it to play on an earlier version of HTML (and then choose HD)?

Hi all; I started a new thread dedicated to any training/kelby related issues. In order not to take this thread off topic, this conversation can move there.
