What kind of batteries to buy?
« on: April 29, 2013, 12:30:22 PM »
Is there a specific brand/type of batteries (regular or rechargeable) to buy when it comes to toys/electronics?  I have kids toys that use AA, AAA,C batteries and am not sure which brand regular and rechargeable batteries are good.

Thanks

There a couple of batteries that can be good. Duracel, Energizer, Rayovac etc.

I do not have experience, however, spending money on rechargeable batteries for kids toys which they may remove doesn't seem like the best idea. Would think regular batteries should be fine.

I buy Costco's brand.
Consumer reports rated kirkland as #1. Don't get longest usage per battery but you do get the most hours of usage per dollar spent ($10 may get you 10 duracell lasting $20 hours, but it'll get you 15 kirkland lasting 25 hours total).

If you want to use your rechargeable AA's for devices which need C or D, you can buy converters which turn them into a C or D battery size.
