Definitely get the prescription Scopalomine patches. They likely won't be cheap depending on your insurance, but they can make or break your whole trip. I made it to and from Antarctica unscathed with the help of my patch.
Also, try one before you go for 2-3 days to see if it causes you any side effects. I got dilated eyes from them, and many others in our group had dry mouth, and some dry eyes.
For the Drake Passage, I combined with OTC Dramamine and wristbands I got from Amazon. It may have been overkill, but I survived the Drake much better than most, and would rather be safe than sorry.
