thx for all the responses, i think we will need to just try out. anyone have bad experiences arriving late to a boat? our boat leaves at 4pm is it crazy to get a flight that arrives around noon-12:30ish?

I hope the flight arrives on time, for the couple cruises I took I flew the night before and stayed at a hotel, just to be on the safeside.

It was my fathers dream to go on an Alaska cruise and he finally did it. And hated every minute of it.

The boat will wait for nobody. And if there's a fuel shortage, it may even leave ahead of schedule, as happened to us.

Under no circumstances would I feel safe taking a flight (esp. if it's from NYC) that's due to arrive so close to the boat's departure. Even if you make the ship, what happens if your luggage doesn't come until the next flight?

I recommend flying in the night before. Not worth risk of flight delays. Cruise will leave without you and money paid is non refundable.

totally hear u, but there are no flights we can catch after late shabbos in august, and going to seattle for shabbos is just a lil too crazy for us.

I find that vacationstogo.com has the best prices. I always look at their "90-day ticker" for last-minute deals.
