Most Comfortable Dress Shoes
« on: May 02, 2013, 10:11:00 AM »
i have had a really hard time finding comfortable dress shoes. I have only found one company that i like for shoes- Keen, they don't make anything to dressy though. Anyone have any other ideas. Must be relatively inexpensive- max $85ish. Don't care if they are slightly nerdy, but not too bad.

IMHO Ecco's are decent but a bit overrated.

If all you care is about comfort, then go with SAS. They do cost quite a few bucks though.

+2.
Got a $120 pair of rockports in November and the soles tore a month ago.  Unacceptable. Not to mention that customer service never responded to my email. Goin back to ecco soon as amazon has a sale on helsinkis.

Ecco, though not all are great.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

SAS!?! I am in the comfort/orthopedic shoe business and IME pretty much the only places still selling SAS are in the NY area. The rest of the country has moved on. There are many, more affordable as well as more stylish, other options out there! Obviously this is my observation and my experience.

I haven't worn 'nice' shoes for a long time due to comfort issues. I just bought a pair of Johnston Murphy shoes for Yom Tov, and they're really comfortable! Go into your local shoe store or department store, and try on a pair.

+1 for their shoes with Nike Air soles (they have dress shoes with that sole as well), though it's hard to find a nice pair in your size for <$85.

Their shoes are pretty comfortable, but I would be in Nordstrom every month from then on.

You'd wear through a pair of Cole Haans in a month? If so, what shoes do you wear that last you a while?

It depends on the structure of the shoe. Cole Haans loafer literally in a month and half. Some better than others.

Wowzers. I wear through shoes pretty fast and these days I shop by price so I have lots of cheap pairs. What do you wear?
