Merging AAdvantage accounts
« on: May 02, 2013, 04:01:58 PM »
I have two AA accounts, both with same name and address.  The older acct has been used to book tickets for other people and newer one i just got AA miles into for Citi CC spend bonus.

Any issues if I call cust serv and have them merge the 2 accts into the newer AA acct?

thanks

And not merge at all?
What would be safest way to go about? Anyone do something similar recently...

You definitely DONT want to merge. Why would you risk a clean account by combining with a dirty one?

To consolidate the mileage balance?

If an account gets filthy, won't they spot you anyway, even after recycling to a new 1?

that was my question: to sweep the dirt into a nice and squeaky clean acct and then everything is spotless.
