It should be $50 ticket + $45 processing.

Again, in NYC, once ticket is paid you can't ask for a hearing its like you pleaded guilty.

I don't know if you can hold it up against Hertz for doing this to you. I wonder of you can dispute the credit card. It would also be interesting to know if  you can file a class action suit against Hertz.

they are paying for a tickets of your with out giving you an opportunity of pleading not guilty . Disputing with evidence .. Etc

I got a red light camera ticket in LA while renting from National. I read up on it a bit and the general impression i got was not to pay the ticket as they have no real way of enforcing these, at least in LA.

Anyone with a similar experience?

my guess is the rental car comp will have to pay it and then bill u for it

no, national gave them my name and address, and i just got the bill in the mail. national charged me $18 processing fee, which i refuted and was refunded.

I had a similar situation. I had paid the ticket myself by check which was sent back to me with a note saying that it was already paid for by Hertz with a $40 processing fee. I called up and argued that I paid within the time frame and was refunded the $40.
