Giora Eiland, a former Israeli army general and national security adviser, said the apparent deadlock in Syria's civil war, now in its third year, meant the Netanyahu government had to be prudent in any military intervention.

"I don't anticipate far-reaching consequences in Lebanon or Syria (from Israel's actions)," Eiland told Israel Radio.

Syria isn't exactly in top fighting form while it fights its civil war.
Although Israel should still be careful not to give the Assad regime a scapegoat they can use to blame all its problems on (however implausible it may be).

Syrian TV is reporting it as an Israeli attack. Hard to see how Assad can ignore it, and hard to see how Obama can ignore it if he does anything.

Sorry, when I looked at that link it didn't have anything about Sunday's strike. It had an article about Friday night's strike, while I was referring to the bombing Sunday morning. The link CV posted was updated with Sunday's story, as at the time CV posted, the strike the link is referring to didn't take place yet.

these are convoys to Lebanon being done w/ the approval of Assad (at least according to reports)
it doesn't do Assad any favors at all
