High Usage Card Advice
« on: May 05, 2013, 09:25:29 AM »
Hi,
In our business, we use credit cards a lot. We currently have Amex Platinum for Business and Chase BA. However, because of the deflation in Membership Reward Points and lack of actual space on BA flights, we are looking to change to a different business card. We primarily like to accumulate points to use for vacation travel.

I'm writing because I would love your advice on the best card for accumulating I volume points with the best options for use. The sign up bonuses are good but that's not my main interest as I use these cards over the long term and don't have time for frequent changes.

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Thanks
M

Chase Ink Plus
Though I'd hold on to the Amex and or a SPG from Amex as well.

I would say the Ink Bold over the the Plus since it sounds like you're going to need a higher credit line

U mentioned that u dont really need the whopping sign up offers. U mentioned u have amex platinum.
I would suggest the United club card, great travel benefits as well as $395 annual fee with a $100 statement credit after the first purchase. which is cheaper then the Amex P card,
As well as u get 1.5 miles for every $ spent, valued somewhere between 2.4-2.7 cents a mile with united!!

U are correct, However every $1 spent gives u 1.7* 1.5 which is roughly 2.5 per $1

Each dollar you get 1.5 miles and if you value UA miles at 1.6, it gets you in that frame.

You still don't end up with 2.4-2.7 per mile.

We are in a similar situation - the Ink Bold has been awesome, and the SPG Business Amex is a good second (we use both a lot).

If you value 1 UA mile at 1.6 you will end up with 2.4cpd. There are some that value UA at 1.7-1.9 which hikes the "cpd" over 2.4

Dude, you need to go back a bit and read EMWS' post, and then check why you gave a "-1" to uno-me, and them come back here and explain it to us.

Some of these cards seem terrific for accumulating points but very limitted in terms of which airlines you can apply them towrards.

Which of these will have the broadest offerings in terms of airline choices?

Ink for United, SPG Biz for almost every other airline.
