So hit the chase cards first.
Any particular ones? Ink for business and which 2 for personal? Sapphire and?

Personal Platinum for 5x on airfare booked directly with the airline.
Depending on how the travel/restaurants/hotels are broken down, and what you do with your points, I'd consider the CSR for 3x in all 3 of those categories.
Thus, my dilemma!
No plans for points use. (No real need. Vacations are tagged onto business travel.)
Currently, just accruing AA points.
Rather not get both, but it seems best to get Amex for travel and CSR for hotels and dining.
Any opinions?

Personal Platinum for 5x on airfare booked directly with the airline.
Why not Biz Plat?

Why not Biz Plat?

You don't get 5x on airfare unless it's booked with Amex travel

What’s his goal with the new cards?

I would do business cards first, so you shouldn’t hit 5/24. Only after having all chase bus cards that you want, then start applying for chase personal and then other card issuers.

So, for now I would go with 2 inks.

Be aware with chase and leave time between apps.

I'd go for the CSR. Better value redeeming as cash for hotels and flights if you want to liquidate them, and you will earn a solid 3x in all 3 of those categories. Even if you end up earning a little less in the long run, you're still coming out ahead.

With the demise of the SPG card I’m now left with this dilemma. I live in Israel so I obviously have lots of spend overseas. Until now I’d use my CSR for restaurants & travel, & when not trying to meet a SUB, my SPG for all other random spend - groceries, bills & any other random stuff. I try to aim for at least 1.5% - 2% back with emphasis on points I’ll be able to use. Points value is subjective so that’ll obviously vary for every person. I’d love to hear everybody’s suggestions of cards w/o FTF.

Right now I’m leaning towards the Cap1 Spark 2% cashback.

The freedom & freedom unlimited have FTF, which if you read my post is what we’re trying to avoid.

@Dan actually suggested the United Club Card but I don’t think I have enough use for united miles to make it worth more than 2% cashback.

Also in Israel, and I use a mix of the CSR, Citi Premier, and Barclays Arrival Premier.  The Citi/Barclays combo is also excellent for Qantas points, as you can redeem them for El Al flights with no surcharges and decent availability.  In terms of miles, Citi/Barclays gets you: 3X Travel/Gas, 2X Dining/Entertainment, 1.43-2.1X for all other spend.  If you also have CSR, bump dining up to 3X.  I don't know what your spend level is, but if you can reach the $15K/25K milestones with Barclays, it's more or less a 3% cashback or 2.1 miles/$ card (first year is free, it remains to be seen if/what retention offers will be for year 2 onward).

The above is obviously assuming that you aren't interested in churning/repeated sign up bonuses, which would change the game plan altogether.  It also depends on how much you spend on travel/dining, and what class you usually fly.

Other considerations: FX rate (supposedly MasterCard (Citi/Barclays) has a better FX rate vs. Visa (CSR).  It isn't a lot of money but can start to add up.
Lounge access: Barclays is pay-to-play, CSR is free + 2 guests, Citi doesn't offer.
Barclays Travel Community: You can rack up the miles with the Barclays by posting on their community.  A post a day (5-10 minutes of your time) can easily add up to 60K+ miles a year, which is $600 or 43K Qantas.

At any rate, I've been pretty happy with my returns on the Citi/Barclays combo thus far, but I can't bring myself to part from the CSR.

Which is the best card to buy an Amtrak ticket on points?
And if it is a revenue ticket under $100?

Depends. Will you be transferring MR or redeeming at 1¢? Do you have BP? Obviously on a level playing field, 2ppd beats 1, but only you can determine the value of them. If we're talking only a few thousand, I'd probably go with whichever I have a large stock of, if both, I'd refer to the answers of my first questions.

Can easily reach the $50K with Blue Plus. Question is if rather have a large UR balance...

Which is the best card to pay for a car rental when returning the car? SP for CDW does nothing at this point.
