I'm very apprehensive about Shabbos davening in sin. How long does it take and what makes it take so long? Is there a  speech? Does the shul have Sefarim or is it just chumash and siddur type?

is there somewhere to pick up food for shabbos so I don't have to take  my kid out on Shabbos?

I emailed Kudeta. Children under 12 are not allowed at Skybar after 7pm.

FYI Aug 7-10 Singapore is celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Did you see if they are having any activities that would be fun to attend?

Some parades and shows. Discounted/ free admission to different attractions.  I'm nervous because everything will be jammed because holiday weekend. You'll be there then?

Would it be worth having a long connection in Singapore, from 6:25 AM to 6:20 PM (on a Sunday morning, if the day of the week makes a difference)?

Things that worry me: it might be too short of a time to do anything useful, or the time of day might be too early to really accomplish anything. Things that excite me: can finally cross it off the ol' bucket list. >:D

My wife loves nature, so I'd probably want to check out the botanical gardens and/or the zoo. I'd also love to do the Singapore Flyer (although sunset is - obviously - not an option :(), and the Skyline Luge looks massively cool. The DDMS post makes Chinatown seem rather interesting, but I'll have just been to the actual China right before Singapore - so it really be worth going? :P

Also of mild interest is the Marina Bay Sands Skypark/KU DÉ TA. Is it really worth it, or lower on the list of priorities?

So... with all that in mind, how much can I realistically accomplish in such a short time? Did I miss anything else of interest?

Thanks in advance.

The airport isn't terribly far from where you wanna be in SIN, so I could be convinced to say it's worth it if you can fit it the Botanical Gardens (truly beautiful) and can scam negotiate your way onto the Marina Bay Sands rooftop bar. Personally, once you've been on the MBS rooftop (and bar) I don't think the Flyer is worth paying for.

Thanks. What's wrong with KU DÉ TA, though? Sounds like no scamming negotiating is necessary...

Nothing is wrong with the bar. It's just not the pool; which is extraordinary.

Why pointless?

Would you go to Chicago and not go to Milt's or Shallot's?
Would you go to Chiang Mai and not see an elephant?
Would you go to Hawaii and not dip your toe in the water?
Would you go to Sydney and not see the Opera House?

Not following... why is that a reason not to go to KU DÉ TA?!

And in the nimshal, what is the iconic Singapore landmark being alluded to, exactly? The pool itself?
