Get someone from your hotel to push your baby and see if Chabad has someone who can push back. It's the only way I can think of.

Did this and stayed at that place. It isn't chabad though (even if the rabbi is lubavitch). Hotel pushed both ways, but I had to remind them once by walking to the front desk.

There is a way into the hotel without having to worry about an automatic door, btw. The garage has an unlocked door on the second level that connects to the main hotel staircase - which lets  you access the lobby or guest floors without triggering anything.

Thanks.
Already went and returned. Ended up having someone from the shul push the baby but I didn't like it at all.

In any case the rabbis are Lubavitch and wonderful people. We ate by one of the Shluchim Friday night and had an amazing meal. They are such a warm welcoming family with beautiful well behaved children.
The Shul itself belongs to the local community that isn't lubavitch. The shul was donated  by some guy a bunch of years ago and includes a whole complex with a shul, dining hall, kitchen, some living quarters etc.

On Shabbos morning after davening they have a large community Shabbos meal for free and the entire community and any guests are invited. The food was amazing with many types of dishes and lots of quantity. The tables are set very nicely with real dishes and silverware and the meal is handled by waiter service. We especially relished the opportunity to meet and converse with many people from the local community and get a "real" feel of the place and people.

Ce La Vi is the bar on the 57th floor of MBS. You can either pay SG$23 to go to observation deck or you can pay SG$20 to go to bar and observation deck and get SG$20 credit at the bar.

They do check for tickets either way at elevator.

Or you do what we did:
Follow some hotel guests into the regular hotel elevator (not the one that goes to the bar) and go to the highest floor that the elevator goes to. You then switch over to the next elevator that goes all the way to the top.
Please note that you need a hotel room card to push the elevator buttons but chances are that someone is always headed to the roof so you just follow them.
Enjoy the free views!!!

Has anyone stayed at the "Wanderlust" hotel in Singapore? It's an SPG hotel, by way of Design Hotels.

I'm wary of Design Hotels in general, due to their total indifference to things like SPG Plat. Anyone have any experience there in general? Also, is it a good location?

Have not stayed there. Location wise I would say it’s good. You are just a 15 minute walk from the shul and kosher restaurant Awafi. A few minutes walk to little India.

Subway is also very easy to use, you can get a 1, 2 or 3 day pass for unlimited travel.

The area may remind you of Agripas and Machne Yehuda

The former is better news than the later

Has anyone been or stayed at the JW Marriott (South Beach)?

1) Which floor do the rooms start on?
2) Is there an accessible staircase to use on shabbos?
3) How are they with upgrading Plats to suites?

FYI, your LOR allows you to have a goy take you up in the elevator, assuming it’s done properly. He says that for best results (halachically), keep a case of beer (or similar treats) in your room, and offer the goy a beer if he’ll take you up to your room. Like this, he’s doing it also for his benefit, not just yours.

For two days in Singapore, can’t decide whether to stay as close as possible to the JBC (dinner) or the kosher Coffee Bean (breakfast, snack). Any advice one way or the other?

They’re only about a mile away from each other, with the JBC being about a mile closer to downtown and MBS, I would stay closer to there.

If you plan on going for davening in the morning the JBC is a no brainer. You are unlikely to end up at CBTL more than once a day

Elevator has other issues as well. Cant imagine a rov permitting it in all scenarios. More like a shaas hadchak heter.

You missed the “assuming it’s done properly” part. Part of that means ensuring it’s a proper “shas hadchak” - for example, a solo traveler staying two flights up probably shouldn’t do it. But someone with a baby staying on the 40th floor is a slightly different matter...

And IIRC, I’m pretty he said you’re not required to make sure to move to a lower floor before Shabbos, either. It’s not the same as putting yourself into a matzav of nisoyon or anything like that.

I don't think you have the correct outlook on this, but it's beyond the scope of this forum, so I'll leave it there.

How is it shas hadchak if you can request a lower floor??
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

IIRC the toilets don't have a manual flush at all. It is definitely not a good place for shabbos

Is Starbucks in Singapore kosher (or at least as “kosher” as it is in the US)? Or only the CBTL in Orchard Central is okay?
