Is Starbucks in Singapore kosher (or at least as “kosher” as it is in the US)? Or only the CBTL in Orchard Central is okay?
AFAIK just CBTL is kosher.

The only branch of CBTL which uses long-life milk from Australia is the kosher one, AFAIK. For the others (and Starbucks) not sure you can rely on Chalav Stam (if you hold that). AYLOR.
The cakes for this branch are produced in a separate area of the central factory. Owner of franchise is Jewish, and wanted to provide community with kosher facilities.

Anyone have any insight on discounts for the Sands?  Trying to justify $600 when all the other luxury hotels are half that.

Not worth it IMO although I never stayed there. There are so many beautiful hotels in Singapore I just don't think it could possibly be worth that much. The St. Regis was absolutely gorgeous.
If you don't end up staying there and go up for the view, pay for the observation deck, not the bar, you can't see anything from the bar.

+1 the only benefit of actually staying in the sands is being able to use the infinity pool, which IMO isn't worth it.

That's my exact question.  Is the experience (and the picture) in the pool worth $300?  One friend who did it said it is.  I don't see myself returning anytime soon and I'm only there for one night.

I can't imagine it is, go to the observation deck for a picture and do the ferris wheel for the view.

I know what he meant, I don't think a single picture of yourself is ever going to be worth $300, especially when you can get stay at a nicer hotel and still get great views and pictures for cheaper. It's cool to post on social media or whatever but honestly nobody actually cares.

I went Skydiving and chose not to pay ~$200 for pictures and I now kind of regret it.

In any case, a picture in a pool is NOT worth hundreds of $. Don't pay for anything. Follow hotel guests up in the elevator and take pictures by the observation deck and then leave.

Good call. I actually DID pay for a night at the MBS (yes, I know I need to finish my trip report...lol) but I don't think it was so worth it.  I don't regret it but can't say I'd recommend it to others.  :)

Any ideal "points hotels" not far from Chabad aside from the Intercontinental?

OK hotel. Base suite is nice. Not too far from shul but the location isn’t in a nice environment.

Have the same thoughts. The hotel is really nice and modern as well as close to public transportation but after my stay I regretted not staying closer to where the main attractions were. However, Uber wasn’t that expensive and if your open to ubering everywhere than the Andaz should be more than fine.
