Ever been to Chabad in SIN to compare?
Yes but not for shabbos and I can imagine that it's more business oriented and bangkok is exciting with young Israeli tourists.

If 21 year old Israeli are more exciting than bank directors from around the world, yeah...

Sg also has a lot of young professionals.

@Dan - care to weigh in, both respect to the quoted comment and SIN<=> BKK?

Seems to be PG for SIN and cbs for BKK.

Although,  frankly, if for some reason I shouldn't stay at the Marina Sands in SIN (besides it not being close to chabad), I'm not sure its worth the shlep to SIN for shabbas. It's cheaper and closer just to go to BKK.

I think it's been covered pretty well.
Would you rather be with hundreds of high-energy Israelis or a couple dozen low key business people and young professionals?
Obviously cbs would prefer the former while PG the latter.
The food at both are likely to be adequate though nothing to write home about.
SIN is a sephardi shul (though administered by chabad) which runs long while BKK will likely be quicker.

Is HKG an option instead?

Shabbas in SIN (would like to stay here) or Shabbas in BKK (would probably stay here)?
the le meridian is not walkable to Any of the chabads, I would recommend the Davis hotel in bkk

I guess it all depends on my routing back to USA.

CX won't open up out of HKG until < 2 weeks out.
SQ won't likely open out of SIN until about the same.
And I'll be playing by ear for TG F ex BKK.

I'm guessing HKG trumps both SIN and BKK?

Thanks for the recco, but that doesn't seem that close either...

Is there another Chabad you're referring to?

HKG (KZ) usually has better food, but the davening is very sefardi and hotels are more expensive.

Chabad of Hong Kong Island had phenomenal food as well as a nice mix of people as well as hotel choices that run the gamut.

I've never been to HKI for Shabbos.

Some people also eat at http://www.shuva-israel.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2&Itemid=2

The restaurant is very decent, but food is better at Chabad of HKI.

correct, there are three of them in bkk. Seems from the conversation that you want to go to the main chabad house with all the backpackers, probably a lot of fun, but hard to find a decent hotel In the area

5 years ago, we stayed at the Shangri-La that is attached (by indoor skybridge) to Chabad for Shabbos. Food was nothing special and it was a small crowd but nice nonetheless. If you can somehow swing an upgrade to the Krungthep Wing, it will be well worth the trip

Did the same about 7-8 years ago but don't remember the sky bridge...

I thought the food was quite nice, especially the breakfast after davening.

So now I've been in SIN for shabbos and I must say it was very nice.
Meal was nice - tasty Indian style food. And i think you'd prob enjoy it more in SIN over bkk as its classier and nicer
