I'm aware. But I'd still rather not be made extremely uncomfortable. My question is if other passengers generally show an indifference or if they look like they'd love to attack you but are restraining myself. Not trying to sound close minded our paranoid, I just don't know. Never flown on any of these airlines before.

IME flying through DXB and AUH.  No one will look at you as if they want to kill you however I'm sure some people will give you a look.

IME with my KSML being delivered loudly on a CX flight from HKG-DOH that seemed over 90% arab, it was either indifference or friendly interest.

-1 There's no guarantee.

Then don't fly period on any of the 3 ME airlines. For the same price your plane might crash or disappear.

That story wasn't on a middle eastern airline. My point was that you can't guarantee anyone that they won't be attacked on an airplane no matter what or where they're flying.

Am I fine putting on Tefilin on a QR flight? Can either do it on PHL-DOH or DOH-MLE (both in J). No time for lounge in between flights. I can technically also put on in lounge in MLE while waiting for local flight but feel like that's the worst option of the 3.

How long is your stop in DOH?

BTW that should give you enough time for Tefillin, especially since you're flying premium.

Really? I dont know the airport at all but just figured that they'll probably start boarding for DOH-MLE shortly after I land so it'll be tight.

Do I need to clear customs or go through security in DOH?

Just because they sometimes start boarding an hour before the flight, doesn't mean you have to be by the gate then :)

You for sure don't have to clear customs, but you probably have to go through security again. Either way IME DOH is a fast airport and they have expedited lines for premium cabin passengers. You can very well get to the gate for DOH-MLE in 15 minutes, and have 40 minutes to daven.

Haha I know but definitely don't want to cut it close because if I miss my flight, the domestic connection in MLE is gonna get really messed up. I guess I'll keep what you said in mind and see what time I end up landing in DOH. Thanks.

No problem. I agree, definitely don't do anything that might make you miss your flight. It's just that AFAIK if you're at the gate 20 minutes before departure anywhere, you're guaranteed to make it onto the plane.

I'd love for other people to chime in on this, if they found this, or know this to not be true in some cases.

The only thing I can say is that I've definitely been on flights where they've taken off early. Could be because every passenger was on the plane so they got the okay to leave, but honestly no idea.

At just 235 miles, DXB-DOH seems to be the shortest scheduled a380 service - http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1346521

Still, might not be worth the hassle.
