I ordered 2 ribs for shabbos a few weeks ago and they gave one each of the long and wide styles.

There was indeed a ton of meat on each.  Definitely more than the time before.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Landing tomorrow at 10:40 am and check in at the Hilton is at 3 pm (if I cant get early check in). Any point in me going straight there? Is there any food around there? Or am I better of going somewhere else first and then heading over around 2-3 pm?

IME some hotels let u check in early if the room is ready. Would definitely help if you have a status with them.

From there the closest one would be Milts. They are open for lunch, can look at their website for hours. A bit more north is where you would get to all the other restaurants.

Thanks! How much would a cab run me from the Hilton to Milts? Also, is Romanian anywhere close?

Use Uber, It is about half the price of cabs in Chicago. Use the app to get a quote.

Romanian is up north near the other restaurants. Again, you can use the app to get a quote

Didn't see a Chicago restaurant thread so I figured Ill jot down my FR (food report NOT F/R) here.

I got into Chicago around 11am and headed straight downtown to the hotel I was staying at. As I was hungry and this was going to be my only shot at a meal in Chicago I decided to make a trip over to Milt's. Truth is, it is the only place that was open and close to the hotel but I had also heard wonderful things about it so I was excited to try it out.

When I got there, I was very surprised about the ambience. It has a very nice bar, flat screen TVs displaying different sport events and, in my opinion, a very nice choice of furniture and lighting. So off I was to my seat and the menu that awaited me.

The menu is clipped on to a wooden board and is pretty cool.

I got started with their chicken wings. They offer it in 3 different ways: Buffalo, BBQ or Smoked. I chose the Smoked version which comes with an assortment of different BBQ sauces to try with. I really enjoyed the attention to detail and the way it was served. It just adds to the experience.
To comment on the taste, I would definitely recommend them. The sauces it came with were good and the wings were not too spicy, very tender and simply hit the spot.

Next I really wanted to try the "Smoked BBQ Spare Ribs 1/2 Slab". They don't have a set price on them but are listed as M.P. (Market price). The 1/2 Slab was $36 I believe and came with cole slaw and another side you can choose. However, when I ordered it  they told me that it wouldn't be ready until 4pm and I didn't have the time to wait :( . Ill have to try that next time.

So I decided to go with a Starter/Main combo. The 2nd starter I chose were Nachos. Here too they have 3 different kinds: Vegetarian Chili Nachos, BBQ chicken Nachos and Chili Nachos. I chose the last. While this might remind some people of the Nachos served at C&G they are nothing like it (in my opinion). The chili is much meatier and they work with very different sauces. It tasted great and was way more then enough. We were 2 and were getting no where close to finishing this.

Last but not least my one main dish was the Char-burger which I then added the "Milt's Way" too. That just means that my burger came with brisket chili, "bacon," crispy onion, and bbq aioli. It was delicious: medium-rare and juicy. The fries were, albeit a bit too salty for my taste, great texture wise.

I would very much recommend going there as it was a nice, clean restaurant with very friendly and quick staff. The prices were also not bad and the food was good. They also have a very big menu and I wouldn't be surprised if I went there again to find myself with completely different food items that I would also enjoy as much as this time.
