Just had the coveted ribs sandwich at Milt's based on the comments in this thread.  It was fine (could do without the red peppers and the spicy-mayo sauce) but certainly not the best item on the menu.

Assuming you mean ORD, in which case Shallots is probably the closest. You'll be risking it with rush hour to get back in 2 hours if you go yourself. I would suggest having it ubered over.

Uber would have delivered from anywhere for about $15.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

+1.  Their new "The Donny" (grilled skirt steak, fried chicken strips and firecracker sauce in a tomato tortilla) is awesome.

It's been available for years. Had to know to ask for it though. Think it used to only be in the online menu...
But yes, it is phenomenal.
Now you got me hungry for one. Gotta make a trip over to Chicago sometime soon

What do you like to do? Activities mainly for you or the kids?
Chicago is a nice choice, except the heat will likely be unbearable

Mainly kids to have a good time. Wife and I would be happy with just that (+ nice hotel & food).

Heat is much worse than NY? Wouldnt I anyways be indoors most of the time?

ETA - is perhaps YUL or YYZ a better destination for me?

Hotel and food you'll have. Mainly indoors, but it's not to be able to go outside.
Children's museum at Navy Pier is great. Lincoln park zoo is supposed to be nice. Aquarium and museum of science and industry as well
