I've done Milt's for lunch and Shallot's for dinner many times. Make sure to get in some physical activity in between and make it an early lunch and late dinner if possible :)

Don't forget there's also a new place, Evita. I haven't tried it out yet.

Evita is ok/good, but not over the top or Shallots style.

I'm assuming it's not as $$$$$ as Shallot's though?

Why not rather Shallot's for lunch & Milts for dinner?

Milt's is known for sandwiches and Shallots for steak and sushi.

Why not rather Shallot's for lunch & Milts for dinner?
Also, Shallots is a bit closer to the airport.

Also, there's a bigger chance that there won't be room for Milts after lunch at Shallots than the other way around. And besides, being not-so-hungry when going into Shallots, and thereby ordering with your stomach rather than your eyes, will save you a lot lot more money.

If you are in downtown Chicago, Metro Klub @ the Crowne Plaza would be a great option! Very underrated....

I'm going to Chicago for an overnight trip tomorrow, and I was planning on both renting a car and staying at the Park Hyatt. I just checked the parking rates at the PH and they're a pretty ridiculous $72 per 24 hours. Anyone know of any reasonable parking options near the PH? Upthread, I see Geshmak25 recommends using the Luxe app; is that the best option?

There are plenty of lots around for less, but you'd have to be OK with walking a little

Why not just Uber around? Rates are pretty cheap here

It really depends how much you'll be using Uber. It's not as expensive in Chicago, but still not cheap.

Thanks. I do see that Uber won't be cheap either, although considering that we will be spending most of our time downtown, and that Hertz doesn't have anything that cheap today (I'm under 21 so I only rent from Hertz in the US), I think Uber will probably be the best option. Also, we may do some public transportation, if the cost to convenience ratio dictates that to be a good option.

Sounds like a good plan. Downtown is never fun with a car.

Is $$$ a factor? If you're trying not to overspend, the braised BBQ short ribs are unbelievable. Filling and only about $40.

If I'm out mistaken, Uber's "city surcharge" for Chicago just went up, but I think it's marginal. I was there two weeks ago and used Uber, and such a message popped up. Maybe Google it. But one thing is sure - I always found great availablity in Chicago. Never had to wait for more than two three minutes.
