Just a bit of background here, this restaurant is located in the heart of a  Chicago neighborhood highly populated with gays. There are gay (I'm assuming) people on staff there as well.
That makes me feel a little better about it

Why should the CRC pull a hashgacha bec of a bad philosophy? They are there to make sure the food is kosher. I have no problem eating their if I know the food is 100% kosher. But the fact that they did this has me thinking that if they are liberal with this what is stopping them from being liberal in other ways? That is why I'm not 100 percent sure what to make of this situation. I guess I will have to consult with my LOR
Because the CRC is more than just an organization that makes sure food is kosher. The restaurant is blatantly anti-torah.
While I don't disagree with most of what you said, I will still eat there. The restaurant is a non for profit, so it's not like I'm even supporting them. They have good kosher food IMO so that's all I'm concerned with.
If you think a not for profit means you arent supporting them, i have a bridge to sell you. while they may give all profits to charity...i guarantee the managing employees make alot more compensation than other restaurants.
In a standard not for profit organization, the people who manage the company take higher salaries to compensate.
Are they really a 501c3? do they pay tax?

of course they are. that was their choice to open up there...and im sure they did because those who manage it fit right in. Doesnt make it a place id want to support or visit when they are clearly anti torah values.

The owner also I'd not frum, but somewhat affiliated. This isn't some place in the heart of a yeshivish area run by a yeshivish guy. Some may still have an issue with it, and I personally do, but I don't think that's a reason not to eat there.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Regardless of whether I'm supporting them or not, my point still stands. Just because someone supports a cause that isn't up to the Torah standards, doesn't mean the food isn't kosher. The guy in the kitchen making it wasn't the guy who put up the flag.

My issue is not supporting them. If its really amazing KOSHER food then I'm in. I've given business to people much worse than them I'm sure.

Who do they donate their money too?

Having dabbled in hashgocho here and there, I'd say that it's a scary side of the counter to see... I don't know of milt's in particular though. As far as the hashgocha, it's the standard in Chicago and commonly accepted.
Who do they donate their money too?
They pick a different charity every month.

I've seen too many people from too many Kashrus organizations, doing things that made me uncomfortable.

Same reason the OU certifies Kind bars. Why should a kashrus org get involved in politics?

And you can vote with your wallet, but I don't see how that affects the kosher status of the food.

thats my dilemma. I don't think the hechsher should be revoked. But if they have low Jewish values then what's stopping them from going behind the mashgiachs back?
