Parking at ORD: The cheapest place to park is in the O'hare lot G. It's $10/day. Be aware that you need to take a bus to the tram (in lot E) which takes you to the terminals. This can take 20-25 minutes

What about the economy lots at ORD? Free shuttle (bus/tram) service.
http://www.flychicago.com/OHare/EN/GettingToFrom/Parking/Pages/Economy.aspx
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I had a terrible experience at thrify, had to wait half an hour for a shuttle even though they advertise it coming more often. They said it only comes as advertised during peak hours not early morning :-(

I second the W on Lake Shore Drive.
Westin River North was decent, but W is much nicer.

Only go to wearing over W if you will be there on shabbos because anything at the W has sensors whereas the wearing doesn't.

IMHO it's overrated, though if you have time the Kohl Children's Museum can't be beat, especially for 7 yrs. and under. On the downside,  it's in the North suburbs (Glenview) which is a 1/2 hour on the I-94 without traffic (which is only possible in middle of the night.

[/]I-94 downtown carries all the truck traffic thru the city so quite often it's backed up. Once you get to the north side after the 90 and 94 split up you do better

Any suggestions on where to park my car for a day at ORD? (leaving early AM and coming back late evening)
A quick google search shows a bunch of places for about 8-9 dollars/day. Any suggestions on which are decent?
TIA
After researching, I ended up parking at o'hare lot F. It's only $9/day! Never thought  parking at the airport would be this cheap
Only annoying thing is that you gotta take a bus to a tram (located by lot E) and that takes time (took us about 20-25 mins). Still, much better than parking at some of these shady lots and relying on their transportation. The busses and tram at the airport run 24/7
