Went to Milts last night. This was my second time there and while it was good, I feel like they are slipping.
For appetizers we had fried green tomatoes (no more okra),  beef chili nachos, beef "bacon" and chicken fingers. The tomatoes were ok. They had the same corn meal crust that the okra had except it didn't stick to the tomato so you end up with a disk of breading and a soggy, bland slice of tomato. It did come with a good dipping sauce though. The chili was excellent as always. My only complaint would be that the chips were mostly soggy. It almost feels like they have plates of it ready to go. Only a few chips could be picked up. The rest needed a fork. Beef bacon was basically strips of thinly sliced meat. Good, but better as part of something like a sandwich. Chicken fingers were coated with same corn meal mixture. Not bad but not my taste.
For main I had the milts burger, creamy cole slaw, fries, and a side of brisket baked beans. Burger was fantastic except for the bun. It was a little bit of a pathetic piece of bread. It was basically the thin soft type you buy at a supermarket. Cole slaw was great and I'm very critical about cole slaw usually. Baked beans were way to sweet for my taste.  No smokiness came through at all. Some people may like it that way but I couldn't really eat it. Fries were eh at best. It's hard to describe but they kind of felt hollow like generic pizza store fries. To me the perfect fry is thick, has a crispy exterior, and soft interior. These had none of that. My wife ordered the brisket sandwich. She said it was good once you added the sauce but had the same complaint about the bun.
What really annoyed me was when we asked for some bread for my 2 year old nephew before the meal came. They brought out 2 slider buns and charged $1.50. I mean seriously?!?!
All that being said, it was still a great meal and I left stuffed. No room for dessert.

Go to a kosher restaurant, pay for food, submit receipt... comes off your bill.

Wow, when I stayed there as a diamond, they didn't give me anything. Maybe times have changed.
