Make sure you do 'credit', not 'debit'.

I always do 5 $1 transactions on sprint.com to pay part of my bill. As I mentioned on the thread about the CO Chase checking account, that once the points post, and you are charged the debit card fee, you can call up and downgrade your card to a free debit card and get the $25 fee refunded, Then you don't have to worry about making 5 transactions.

even once you downgrade your debit card you still need a direct deposit or 5 debit card transactions to save the checking account monthly fee of $6

It can be either or. When you sign it is 'credit'. When you have to put in your pin it is 'debit'. Make sure to always select the 'credit' option.

I also do ten payments of $1 each - for the business and personal cards. But I think Monsey27 is correct that you will still be charged for the account fee.

Sprint automatically puts it through as debit (atm network).

In any gas station, just run it through as a credit 5 times (each for a few cents)??  Do I do this all at the same time or do I need to go to different gas stations or on dif days?

Beware that multiple small transactions at gas stations can trigger fraud alerts and put yopur card on hold, as that is how some thieves test CC's to see if they are active.

Most gas stations will cut you off after 2 or 3 swipes of the same card.
Sam's Club is the notable exception.

some even after 1 time, but I stopped trying for anything over 2 times, also you can be rejected at a different station even for the 1st time if you have already pumped at a station from the same Company. eg I pumped .20 twice at a Mobil station on 1st and Main wont let me go for #3 then I go over to another Mobil on Armstrong and Curry and it wont let me pump at all

so best thing is 3 different Brands in 1 day 2-2-1

In CLE the cutoff is:
BP: 3 times
Shell: 2 times
Speedway: 2 times
Sam's Club: No cutoff.

did You ever go to say BP do 3 and then another BP station and try to do 2 more? usually there are other brands closer then another station of the same brand, but near me with Mobil that wasnt the case and I had things to do near to both anyway. wont make that mistake again

Nope, I live at the corner of Cedar/Green where there is a BP, Shell, and Speedway all within 500 feet of my place. No reason to go anywhere else unless I happen to pass by Sam's.

I know that corner and have been into that Spedway numerous times when in town on that side

Being that all of us have amazon prime and get free shipping, why not just make 5 orders of this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00279L6XW/ref=nosim/krisssoccersi-20/

Its a stupid gasket for $.09 (cheapest thing i could find using filleritem.com) 5 x 0.09 = $0.45. Its definitely cheaper than using your gas to drive to all the gas stations...

" Only 1 left in stock--order soon."

Also it feels like abusing the Amazon program...and folks here seem to be very good at abusing programs to the point that they get shut down.
