Cloud services and subpoenas

Is there any G-Doc like service that is subpoena proof? Looking for a way to edit documents from multiple devices and share folders, but afraid to host the information at a 3rd party in case of legal problems.

Any ideas?

So far the only solution I can think of is to host everything locally and use a log-me-in type service to access from another device.
