I downloaded for the iPhone and clicked the "I got the email" a few times and tried again about 12 hours latter and it worked.

Some things I've noticed- while it may be obvious to old bbm'ers, for me and others, it's new. I'm on Android.

There are 3 ways to chat, personal (one on one), multi person, which is done by adding people your personal conversation, and group chat. All three have different features of what you can do.

Personal, among other features, you can also ping and send videos, although sending vids is not straight forward. You can not send a vid from within the app. You must go to gallery and click share with bbm.

Multi person still allows you to ping, but disallows video sending.

Group chat allows neither video sending nor ping.

One way that BBM is 100x better than whatsapp- not needing to give anyone your phone number.

Due to incredible demand there is a line-up to start using BBM. But, since you took the time to sign up in advance, we'd like to give you the chance to start using BBM on Android or iPhone right away without having to wait in line.
Here's what to do to get past the line-up:
1.Visit BBM.com from your iPhone or Android browser to download BBM.
2.Once the BBM app has been installed, open it.
3.When asked to "Enter your email address to check if you can start using BBM", use the email address this message was sent to.
4.Get started with setting up BBM.
Note to iPhone users: Apps can take up to a few hours to appear in the App Store so if you don’t see it right away, it will be there soon.

Can't think whom I would be BBM'ing but would keep my phone number from his as a classified secret.

if you would like to skip the waiting line get someone that has bbm put there email and you will be able to put your info on and bbm will start working for
