Why would you use it over WhatsApp?
(assuming video chat remains limited to wifi)

Has the D and R showing a messages was delivered or read.

Also its more private, as you dont have to give out your number, as its pin based

It's very misleading. Most people I know have no clue that it doesn't mean read. Though it's obvious when you see that the person was last online before you sent your last message that has two checks.

But guess what, I was always angry on the fact that the other person knows if I read his msg or not, I think it's quite not private ( let's not talk about the fact that everyone can see exactly what time I was last online, I just can't get it... ).

True, but just because it shows someone was online after you sent your message doesnt mean they opened your conversation..

Will if they were in the app and they didn't read your message, you'd think they're ignoring you, no?

And yes, in iOS you can turn off visibility, but in android you cannot. It sucks.

Nope, there are times I opened it but got an email I had to respond to or call came in. I ended up answering them later but still.
