AMEX Shut my acct down

I applied for my mother for the BIZ Prg offer, I called them earlier to activate the card, I was on hold for really long, apparantly the fraud dept called my father as his cell phone # was on the first CC acct she ever had and he said hes not on the phone with them so they hung up on me and told me not to call again. I called back they said they cancelled the acct as they can't verify info and have to reapply.

Maybe organize better communication next time between family members before attempting such a thing.

Correct, it is a shut account. It also looks bad on the credit report, as is was shut by the issuer.

They didn't speak to my mother as they called the number that was on the first CC and my father said he didn't apply for a card. So they assumed it was fraud.

Why didn't you just got to AmericanExpress.com/activate then you don't need to talk to anyone. works even when the sticker says to call.

Not IME, however the fraud dept is probably more attuned to these things.

I once handled my wife F/R.  Toward the end I faxed in  bank statement that said Mrs.  Marks on it and they got very upset at me for impersonating her
