No. They will charge you a fee for handling the ticket and sending your info to the gov.

I got a letter from eilat law firm that I owe $149 based on what read here I understand that I don't have to pay and it can't affect my credit in the US?

I got an Israeli ticket from Cedar Financial in Calabasas CA as an agent for the Isaac Eilat law office. It said that Eilat send me many letters (didn't get any) and now it's been referred to their American agent.

Can I presume that it won't affect my credit if I don't pay? If there's a slight risk then I would certainly pay the 56 dollar fine.

Nothing they can do or proof. They just bark, I had 2 tickets , one parking in Ein Gedi and the other from a traffic light camera, they sent to my Jerusalem address and then through an Israeli collection agency operating in the US, that was 2 years ago , I never responded.

ok so for all those that got tickets in Jerusalem, if you go online within 24 hours, you'll see that there is no mandatory amount set to the ticket yet...
you can pay 1 shekel to satisfy the ticket.
(just be sure to give a fake passport number just in case:)

seems like everyone I know is getting these notices from the law offices of issac Eilat!!
would love to know who he is exactly. I have gotten a bunch, asked my avis car rental agent (moish Lieberman) he said to just ignore it.

The jerusalem.muni site says tickets can only be paid from 3 days after written, I assume this exploits that?

exactly. I have actually gotten online too early sometimes and had to wait till the next morning before it even allowed me to pay 1 shekel at all.

I don't really, but it says paid and you get an email confirmation, and I did it about 6 times, never heard anything...
