Topic Wiki

I just got the southwest companion pass, and I wanted to take my wife somewhere for our anniversary. I was thinking of going to one of the destinations that are just a short flight away from Newark (2 hours). The only 3 close places that southwest flies to direct from Newark are Chicago, St. Louis, or Nashville. Any suggestions as to which would be the best 2 day/1 night short trip?? (We've never been to all 3 of them)

Hey everyone, I plan on going on a honeymoon myself in July after tisha b'av. MLA and Bora Bora are out of my league at the moment. We're just looking for some gorgeous beaches, water sports (scuba diving etc) and preferably a private cottage on the beach somewhere.

Open to the Caribbean if its not bad weather that time of year. I have 110k AA, 20k SPG, 55k UA, 50k UR at the moment. Obviously being a newlywed, the more we save the better, but still willing to splurge.

How about the new Andaz on OGG?

Another great option is the greek islands, plenty of spg options out there.

How many points a night for the Andaz?

Also what is good time to travel to Hawaii bearing in mind I want to book using miles/points for flights and hotels? Summer or just after the  summer better?

Assuming it's 22k or hyatt certs. Check trip advisor's "when to go" section for your other question.

-1 that will tell you in terms of weather, not in terms of miles. Summer is always a very hard time for award tickets

You may have an easier time finding tickets for just after summer and weather wise you're fine whenever you go!

It's a beautiful place. But if you don't want to schlep I suppose another idear would be to head somewhere close and maybe even rent a house with private beach access or a private pool.
