That's essentially a small duffle bag... I need something a lot smaller, preferably with a couple of pockets to keep stuff organized.
Many options if your search Amazon for "small items tote"

I've used the older style laptop case with lots of pockets and dividers

Shockingly enough, this was the most helpful so far. Searching for "man purse" is finally yielding useful ideas.

Not at all shocking. That was my immidiate thought, but then I couldn't resist posting the joke version, figuring you'd search for men's versions

I always travel with a separate small bag for my in-flight essentials: headphones, phone charger, pillow (the middle one here), some snacks, and a couple other random things.

Normally both my carry-on bags are full with stuff I won't check in, so the stuff I need for the flight itself goes in a separate small bag. I've been using plastic shopping bags, and more recently, the bag United's amenity kit comes in. I tie it to my carry-on and have never been stopped. Both carry-ons go in the bin, and the small bag stays with me.

I'm sick and tired of these bags...

Anyone have a recommendation for a case or pouch that would hold the stuff listed above? It needs to be small and have an easy way to connect to a regular carry-on.

I realized I never posted an update.

I ended up buying this. I cut off the lumbar straps and trimmed down the shoulder strap to fit just over my carry on handle.

26 flights and some 50,000 miles later, it's been working out phenomenally. It's made a huge difference in my flying comfort.

Packing tip from my grandfather that he was taught when he was in the army:

To pack pants (trousers) by rolling them up instead of folding them. This way they aren't creased when you arrive at your destination. Works very well.

Same works for suit jackets.

You gotta know how to roll though ;-)

For a jacket, I first turn it inside out. Similar to this:

I roll it after it's reversed, not fold it.

That is the way.

I remember watching a video about the most efficient way to pack things. Rolling things up was most space efficient. From undergarments to outergarments.
