I took some frozen stuff from Melbourne to NY (don't ask). ~30 hours from  when it left the freezer, still frozen.

Just wondering, any possibility it defrosted in between (at stopover) and refroze back in the air? How long is the stopover?

The stop-over in LAX is ~1.5 hours.
Its cold under the plane but it doesn't freeze things, if something is frozen and packed tightly it wont defrost.

Will frozen food last 5 days? (lol) - I'm leaving on Tuesday night and I'll need the food the following Sunday....any tips?
When we went island hopping in Hawaii for a month we would take out that week's food and give the hotel the rest of the entire frozen food in the suitcase to freeze while we stayed there.
Never had a problem.

Never had a problem.

If you have meat and you are giving it to the hotel, you should make sure there is a siman, otherwise its basar shenisaleim min ha'ayin.

If they're able to recreate my wife's deli roll and hawaiian chicken creation...lol

This is a true story that happened to a frum yid on a plane. He was eating his meal when he had to go to the bathroom. When he returned he released that it was left open and that basar shenisaleim min ha'ayin is not allowed to be eaten. When the goy next to him sees he's not eating he asks, "you were enjoying your meal, why aren't you eating any more?".
So he started explaining the whole thing which in turn started a discussion about age old laws/customs in todays day and age.
After they finished talking  the goy turns to him and says. "You have the most amazing religion, I swapped our food and wanted to see what happens".

You can never be too careful...

It's really very easy to make simanim. There has to be a seal too if I'm not mistaken.

In the good old yeshiva days we had contest who could bring most kgs on the plane.

My best friend and me brought several hundred kgs from TLV on a flight, with no elite status and in eco.

B"h i have never paid for overweight.

I guess about 1-2kg close, don't tell me they make you pay for it...

Everything is separated by weekly portion in double-knotted bags that can't just be open and retied.  It would be very obvious if they were tampered with.

Actually, you are right that Halacha is Halacha, and the Halacha is that if from the food itself you can absolutely ascertain that it is yours, then you don't need a double seal.

In asia (far east), you are officially not allowed to bring food in (I still do, and once a little was confiscated on a stopover(!) In bkk).

Ingredients are NOT reliable over there.

FYI, you can get basically anything at the Supermarkets in Hong Kong so no need to shlep tons

When I said that ingredients aren't reliable there, I had HKG in mind. I quoted locals, mizrachi/ dati le'umi type of people who told me that, and they get everything shipped over from australia.

E.g. I bought a minute maid, normally 100% juice (which is an international brand, and in europe at least part of the coca cola corporation) in HKG, and started drinking. It had a funny flavor, so before swallowing, I checked, and it contains fish (!).
