You think we will ever see a pitcher with 10+ complete games in a season again?
I just found a new supply of forks!

SAD!

I agree that its not the same as it used to be but if you look at the numbers then it makes sense.

saber metrics shows you how this maximizes your chances at winning

same thing with the shift and only trying to hit homeruns
it all comes down to the numbers

What numbers make sense? Have someone start the game and pitch to one batter? These managers are trying to act like they are geniuses and end up looking like fools.

What do you prefer to see, pitchers throwing more innings or better pitches?

if they would have won that game then he would be considered a genius

the numbers show that different pitchers pitch better to different batters
same thing with most starters not seeing the lineup a third time because the numbers show that is when pitchers get hit

As a Met fan, I probably watched the shortest games on average the past few years being that pitching is dominant and offense is almost non existent... fewer pitching changes and in general shorter innings on both sides of the plate.

They keep on surprising with new and improved ways too lose. Start season with 11-1 and then lose. That was a nice #mets

Callaway also did that many times. He just copies without really understanding. Iíll takeh maddon any day. Will give you callway and stick in injured cespedis
