WBC or MLB should offer to pay his salary while he's injured.
The last thing they want is for this to become a minor league event.
MLB teams shouldn't have to completely lose out and also pay expenses for a player injured of the job.

Not like wbc had anything to do with it. It was a freak injury during a celebration, not a game. It has happened before and sadly will happen again. If teams use this to stop players from playing the WBC, that will suck big time.

I saw some others say that as well. While I only watched the highlights last night, seriously? Aside from teammates duel - the greatest game ever had some of the best players opt out, ends on a strikeout and had no comebacks? I’m no baseball expert but I’m sure there are a hundred better games in baseball history.

I didn't read the article, I was commenting on "I guess we all missed". Using hyperbolic terms like "greatest game ever" is obviously subjective. The game two days ago was better, IMHO.

Though ending the game on a strikeout was insane when you consider what actually happened.

This is just the Dominican (and look at the lineup if you think they are just minor leaguers who can't sniff the WS). Other teams' players feel the same way or even stronger.

The WBC was awesome, and it will be better next time. If I was a betting man I'd put my money on the USA fielding some of their top pitchers as well next time.

I should have added besides America, but even though it is less so with America, some players do. Look at the player reactions in the games, they were pretty darn pumped about it. Trout said it was "the most fun experience I've had on a baseball field".
