they have a legit team this yr,

one real major whole at ss and 2b. the dp will def e compromised, but if floress can hit for some power as promised then it might make up for the fact
they have a right fielder who will get hurt and has been playing in coors the past few years
the center fielder can field better than any, but needs to prove he can hit, and lead off
the left fielder, i may be the only person who likes him
the 3b needs to come back to 2013 form
the ss needs to prove himself
i like the 2b
the 1b needs to prove last year wasnt a fluke
the c seems solid
rotation and bp should be good
but thats quite a few questionmarks if you ask me.

but not holes.

Secondly - there pitching i would rank as top 5 in baseball which also needs to be proven, but the potential is there. this is what they have been waiting for, the past 5 yrs, ever since omar drafted half these guys

listen, i hope in 10 months were getting ready for the fall classic a mile from my home, but im just a realist. if everything works out, it can happen. if reality sets in, well be discussing next december how "all we need is a shortstop"

to be honest, flores probably makes the most sense, considering the prices of the other guys. but cuddyer? come on. the padres got 3 guys i would rather have than cuddyer. kemp was too much money for a small market team like the mets, the braves probably werent trading upton to queens, but myers? i said right after cuddyer that its all their gonna do, which makes it a terrible signing. francessa is a moron for praising it

Last season it was Harvey. This year it Wheeler. Who is on deck for next year? Syndergaard, Montero?

i say tomorrow have joint surgery with wheeler and degrom
1. start the clocks now so we can maybe compete in 2016
2. maybe theyll get a surgeon discount, which would help them

deGrom had TJ surgery in 2010. So you may be ok with him.

I have nothing against keeping Bryant in the minors for 10 games to keep him another year.

will this alter their chances of losing him when he gets to free agency, maybe... but I would take the risk for another year. Chances are we lose him anyways.

I'm hoping to check off 5 stadiums that I've never been to this year.  I try to go when the Yankees are in town but it's not a limiting factor.  CLE, DET, PIT, CIN, PHI, WAS, TPA, MIA are all prime candidates.

Wrong thread... so
Waiting for BarryG to fill us in.
I didn't see post until a few days late... If you come to see the Cubs in Cleveland I can tell/show you who he is...

I hate that logic, that in 7 years he'll remember being sent down to the minors for 9 games (to learn how to play outfield in real games). It happens to be a sign of respect, the Cubs are showing him how they think he is so good that their number one concern is having him in 6 years from now... Anyways, it makes for a very interesting beginning of this season. There are many things to see in Chi (one example is Olt who might/hopefully/possible be their starting 3B of the present and future, as he's young, a good fielder, and before an eyesight injury a few years ago, was a solid hitter and a very high level prospect). But, the AAA Cubs (Iowa) will have an insane team for two weeks including Bryant, Baez, Russell and Lake... To answer your Q, Bryant is the number one prospect, was a third baseman, and will prob be converted into LF now-ish...
